Candy Cane Flavored Coffee — Peppermint Medium Roast

Peppermint and coffee is a pairing that goes badly far more often than it goes well. Done wrong, it tastes like toothpaste in a mug. Done right — and this is done right — the mint lifts the chocolate notes already sitting in the bean instead of burying them.

Ours opens bright and cool, settles into cocoa, and finishes on something close to sweet cream. It's balanced enough to drink black and sturdy enough to hold up to milk or oat.

All of our flavored coffees start as specialty-grade single origin coffee, roasted in small batches to a smooth medium. Each order is then carefully flavored with high-quality natural flavoring oils while the beans are still warm, so the flavor bonds into the bean rather than sitting on the outside of it. That's why it's still there at the bottom of the cup.

Brew it: drip, French press, or pour-over. Coarse for French press, Standard for drip.

Pairs with: a reread of something comforting and a blanket you don't plan to leave.
