If you asked us to recommend one coffee to someone who says they don't like single origins, it'd be this one. Brazil is the reliable backbone of the coffee world \\\— smooth, chocolatey, low in the sharp acidity that puts people off \\\— and Sul de Minas is where a lot of the best of it comes from.

These are small producers in the rolling hills of southern Minas Gerais. The farms run from 10 to 150 hectares and many have been in the same families for generations. The mild climate, gentle rainfall and particular microclimate of the region do most of the work; the growers have simply been paying attention to it for a very long time.

Naturally processed, SSFC 17/18 grade, from Mundo Novo, Catuai, Icatu and Bourbon varietals. Chocolate through the middle, a mandarin brightness that lifts it, and a clean finish that doesn't linger unpleasantly.

It's also the base of several of our house blends, which should tell you what we think of it.

Brew it: anything. Drip, French press, espresso, cold brew. This is the most forgiving coffee we sell.

Pairs with: whatever you're already reading. It doesn't compete.
