Asian Plateau Blend — Heavy Bodied Southeast Asian Medium Roast

Southeast Asian coffee doesn't taste like anything else, and if you've only ever drunk Latin American beans this will be genuinely unfamiliar.

Where African coffees go bright and Latin American ones go sweet, these go heavy and herbal — a thick, almost syrupy body, savoury and earthy notes rather than fruit, and an aroma that fills a room before you've poured anything.

It's a medium roast, but it drinks like something darker because of the weight. Best as a hot coffee, straight up — this isn't one for iced drinks or elaborate milk.

Grown under full sun with washed processing, handled in environmentally friendly fashion.

Brew it: French press. The heavy body is the whole point, and a paper filter strips out exactly the thing you're buying it for.

Pairs with: a book that takes some effort. This is not a light cup.
